Project X Groups 1: Research and Development

In this week, the project X task was to come up with and develop our designated group personas for Anxiety and Depression in Adults.

Initially we were confused about what we had to produce as an end product because I guess that is how we thought collectively. So we tried to reverse engineer from a made up product which we would not stick to producing but instead to just give us some direction on how to handle the task.

We came up with a few make believe scenarios for our subject and one thing we realised was that in the modern day, a lot of people had access to smartphones which gave us the idea to make an application.

We realised that Depression and Anxiety are very serious mental illnesses which should not be taken lightly, and we thought that making an application in an effort to ‘fix’ these issues would not be appropriate or possible. 20190107_105658788039764.jpg

Above is an image of some bullet pointed ideas we had. We acknowledged that fixing the issue would be out of our league so we wanted to produce something which would allow sufferers to cope and encourage them to seek professional help and advice.

From this we could figure out how to produce a journey map and how the user would come to encounter and interact with our product.

We did a couple of mind maps to figure out what sort of coping methods based on research would be appropriate to help sufferers cope with Depression and Anxiety. We thought it was important to include both positive and negative coping mechanisms in order to make sure our projections were unbiased.
